Civil Engineering Interview: How To Answer The “Tell Me About Yourself” Question
First impression is very important they say. This also has the same great importance in an interview scenerio, as it is greatly pivotal to what an employer perceives about you.
Upon your arrival at the venue of the interview, it is very important to politely greet the receptionist, and to also state the reason for visit.
For example, you could introduce yourself like this:
My name is Solomon, and I have an interview scheduled with Mr. Bernard at 12 pm.
Be cautious and respectful to this first contact person as much as possible. This is because many hiring personnel and managers will always go back to this first contact to enquire about his or her perception of the first impression of the visitor.
About Your Self:
Qualification:
Your introduction should be brief and concise enough to keep the interview interested to listen further. Generally, a brief introduction of your qualifications should suffice.
For example:
I have passed B.E civil engineering in good grades from Ahmmadu Bello university in 2016. You can further go on to tell all about your past qualifications and grades or marks if necessary.
Many interviewers and managers ask opened ended questions like “tell me about yourself”
Just be brief and emphasize the key strengths in your background relative to the offer when answering such questions.
